Disaster Preparedness & Community Resilience

On Friday, October 23, 2026, Meadow Farm Community Land Trust and LISTOS California hosted a follow-up disaster preparedness class at Caspar Community Center, offering a deeper dive into how we can prepare not only as individuals and households, but as a community.

Building on our previous classes, we explored practical ways to prepare for emergencies, including sheltering in place, water storage and purification, emergency food supplies, dry sanitation, backup energy, first aid, and neighborhood communication and support.

We are especially grateful to everyone who came together to share knowledge, experiences, and resources. Living in a small, rural coastal community means looking out for one another, and gatherings like this remind us how much strength there is in being prepared together. Community resilience starts with neighbors connecting, learning, and supporting one another.
